Just got the whole family to participate in the TenleyTigerRun.com on Sunday April 3rd in TenleyTown.net. While the day was grand the times, not so much for me... So it's got me twice as motivated to for the next run back to some normal times. However the joy of being out with the whole family and helping our local school is great day and here's a few pictures of the race.

Spring into Blogging about Running in DC
So wanted to get back into the whole SocialMediaMentary about my two main obsession, besides music and that would be Running and Social Media. And the idea of combining them kinda grew out of many hours running and thinking about the two.
The next phase is now upon us and that is getting the social into the media. And that is where the crowed comes into play. Over the next few months we're going to be asking others to join me on runs. document their own runs and start to share it across social media.
To that end, I've started a Facebook Group and Page as well is ongoing twitter feed so that sharing is just a couple clicks of button and some linking to these mutual pages that tie us to this obsession that is #DCRUNS.

Prepare to perform~ git it........
I just wanted to rave about these Prepare to perform. supplements. I took some before my run yesterday and today I have none of the ache, burn and pain in my legs that is the normal result of running 6 miles.
If this holds up after a few more runs I will be very happy and quite impressed since walking around like old man scarecrow is never fun and knowing the next run is just the next day this could be an important part of my ritual.
So if your like me always striving to get those longer runs in and also want to make sure you can still function at peek performance the rest of the day & night; Then, Prepare to preform~ is the ticket. So go git some and let us know if you get the same results.

Running around with my GPS cut off.
This is the third run that I have done that my watch never connected with the GPS Satellite.
I am wonder if others are getting this error or inconsistencies with their GPS.
If this is happening beyond my watch and is a wide spread issue to me it would be a Sun base issued.
As a regular watcher of the Sun which I like to use in Crisisdata mapping I have to wonder not if it's how much this new level of solar activity is having on our electronics.
What I do know is that it is a bummer to be running around with my GPS cut off.
So what ever the reason I have heard a few it will much appreciated when we get this service back online.
Also let me know by leaving a comment or putting #gpsfail in your tweet or other social media and I'll see yas out on the roads and trails of DC Running.

snow running v treadmill
With wanting to keep the runs ~ well running along a huge change had to be made has I have been running in Vibram 5fingers for some time and have found them to a pretty interesting animal to run in.
The thing that I caught me most off guard was how still my legs had become for the years & years doing a a heel strike and foot thrush forward. To now placing my foot directly under my center of gravity and pushing back.
So now I am back in my new fav the Reebok Wave shoe ...I am pretty sure by now they have many more styles and colors these I got when they first came out and before I found the Vibrams.
To me the Wave technology is the most desirable for my new chicken scratch foot strike, see 5finges, and the feel that I want to have under my feet when I am out running.
Bar none, if you have something and want me to try it sure, until then the Mizuno Breath Trermo outer wear is the most awesome piece of equipment I have ever come across.
Just wearing this top and a bottom by them I am able to run in weather down in the low Thirties and when it gets colder I have at most worn a 1.5 UnderArmor pullover
As for the hat, gloves and extra's needed for winter running I'll leave that for another day and time.
Just remember that the tech is out there to keep your running and very comfortable I might add during the worst weather. So the only needed part is yours.
If you are having trouble getting the runs to come I have discovered that if I come here and blog about it or post on twitter that I have run x miles then I have no choice other then run it.
So what's your winter running advice.
